Brief Bio
Silvio Barra was born in 1985 in Battipaglia (Salerno, ITALY). In 2009 and in 2012 he received the B.Sc. degree (cum laude) and the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in Computer Science from University of Salerno. In 2017 he took the Ph.D. at the University of Cagliari. Currently he is a Research Fellow at the University of Cagliari. He is member of the GIRPR. His main research interests include pattern recognition, biometrics and video analysis and analytics.

Brief Bio
Salvatore Mario Carta is Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cagliari.He received a PhD in Electronics and Computer Science from the University of Cagliari in 2003 and in 2005 joined Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cagliari as Assistant Professor. In 2006 and 2007 he was guest researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology as invited Professor, hosted by Laboratoire des Systèmes Intégrés - LSI. The current research activities of Salvatore Carta are focused in the following fields: AI Algorithms and platforms for road accidents prevention and smart mobility,AI algorithms for financial forecasting and robo-trading, Clustering algorithms, social media analysis, and text mining for behavioral pattern identification and recommendation in group of users and in single users,AI algorithms for credit scoring, fraud detection and intrusion detection,E-coaching platforms and AI algorithms for healthy lifestyles He is author of more than 100 conference and journal papers in these research fields, with more than 1300 citations and is member of the ACM and of the IEEE.

Brief Bio
Alessandro Sebastian Podda is a post-doc researcher at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cagliari. He got a PhD in Mathematics and Informatics, supported by a grant from RAS (Autonomous Region of Sardinia), with a thesis entitled "Behavioural contracts: from centralized to decentralized implementations". In 2017, he has been visiting PhD student at the Laboratory of Cryptography and Industrial Mathematics of the University of Trento. Previously, he got a BSc and a MSc in Informatics (both with honours) at the University of Cagliari. Currently, he is a member of this Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Laboratory, the Blockchain Laboratory, and the TCS research group of the University of Cagliari. He is also technical director and solution architect of the Doutdes and Sardcoin projects, and participates in numerous research projects including AlmostAnOracle, Safespotter and Mister. Moreover, since now, he has been the co-author of several journal articles and scientific conference papers, as well as reviewer for different top-tier international journals.

SCOPE
The main aim of Smart Cities is improving the daily life of the citizens and supporting their habits by proposing subject oriented services. In urban scenarios, this improvement is mainly oriented to pedestrians and drivers, which may take advantage from surveillance systems providing services and guaranteeing safe living environments. The main scope of this workshop is to gather papers and proposals dealing with methods and systems able to detect anomalous events in urban traffic scenarios and to launch alerts in cases their presence is confirmed. In fact, IoT, cloud and CV based approaches may serve as underlying systems for detecting several anomalous situations, both related to vehicles (accidents, speeding, …) and to pedestrians (fights, dangerous crossings, …).
